If you have been charged with a sex crime, such as Child Molestation, Child Rape, Rape, Assault with Sexual Motivation, Communication with a Minor for Immoral purposes, YOU SHOULD GET A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY. In recent years, the laws have undergone significant changes and prosecutors are aggressively prosecuting all sex crime cases, even when the “victim” refuses to press charges.

The penalties are extremely severe and can affect the rest of your life, including upon conviction JAIL OR PRISON and a requirement that you REGISTER as a sex offender, have absolutely no contact with minors and undergo sex offender treatment.

At the first appearance in court it is likely that the Judge will issue a no contact order between you and the “victim” of the offense. This means that the person charged with the crime will need to live in a separate home and will absolutely not be able to speak over the phone or have any contact with the”victim”, even indirectly through friends or family members. Not only is this financially stressful, but it is very confusing and disruptive. Violation of these no contact orders can subject the accused to more charges and possibly a revocation of the conditions release, including revocation of bail or personal recognizance.

The bottom line is that these matters are exceptionally serious. Jeanette Dalton brings her years of experience and tenacity in defending these cases to each and every client. Her reputation for excellence is well earned.
